Tiger's Nest Day Hike
Paro Taktsang Pilgrimage Trail
Tour Overview
No visit to Bhutan is complete without Tiger's Nest. The monastery clings miraculously to a sheer granite cliff at 3,120m — 900 metres above the Paro Valley floor. Built around the sacred cave where Guru Padmasambhava is said to have arrived on the back of a flying tigress and meditated for three years, Taktsang is the spiritual heart of Bhutan.
This guided full-day hike through fragrant pine and cypress forest, adorned with thousands of colourful prayer flags, takes approximately 4 hours round-trip and rewards with views and spiritual atmosphere that few places on earth can match.
